My name is David Davila and as a Leadership Coach, I know just how frustrating it can be to always hear about this powerful tool, yet it seems nobody teaches the mechanics of it clearly enough to be easily picked up. Not to mention a decent coaching program can cost thousands of dollars!
I've been certified in numerous coaching methodologies and have worked with over 30,000 aspiring leaders (as of 2019).
I have found the following to be true:
1. A LOT of managers THINK they are coaching.
2. Virtually none of them have a deliberate framework for providing coaching to their employees.
3. Many think <insert generation> are the reason their management style doesn't work.
4. Many highly skilled professionals think that what worked for them in the past will continue to work for them in the future.
5. Many tell me they simply don't have time to "ask a bunch of questions and let them fail".
Make no mistake - Coaching IS HARD - but it doesn't have to be complicated! It doesn't have to be perfect to likely be more effective than what you're doing now.
